00:00Many of us out here, we're looking for spouses.

00:05But sometimes when we look for spouses, we don't know what to look at.

00:08People say, this is a very wealthy family, I'm going to marry in them.

00:12Do they have deen? Do they have some form of connection with Allah?

00:16When you're looking for someone, we are taught,

00:19فَضْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينَ تَرِبَتْ يَدَكَ

00:21You need to become victorious by choosing and selecting someone who has a connection with Allah.

00:27That is when you will be truly victorious.

00:29So I had a young man come to me and say,

00:31Does that mean we must marry an ugly woman if she is religious?

00:35My brother, when I heard that question, I was smirking and smiling

00:38because I told myself you haven't understood.

00:41So I thought of explaining to the young lad,

00:43when someone has deen and character as taught by the Prophet ﷺ,

00:48when someone comes to propose for your daughter and they have good religion

00:51and they have good character, give that daughter of yours in marriage to that person

00:56if the daughter is willing.

00:57If the daughter is not willing, you are not allowed to give.

01:00For as long as there is deen and akhlaaq in that brother,

01:02there will be barakah.

01:03That's the hadith.

01:04So if someone has deen and akhlaaq, give them a one.

01:08One point.

01:08They have one point.

01:09Write down one.

01:10If they are good looking, give them a zero.

01:13What does it make it?

01:14Ten.

01:14Okay.

01:15If they have a lot of wealth, give them another zero.

01:17What does that make it?

01:18A hundred.

01:19If they come from a good family, give them another zero.

01:21What does it make it?

01:22A thousand.

01:23If they have a lot of other things, give them another zero.

01:26How much would that make it?

01:27Ten thousand.

01:28And so on.

01:28Keep on giving them zeros for every other thing.

01:31But for deen and akhlaaq, what did you give them?

01:33A one.

01:33If they don't have deen and akhlaaq, remove the one.

01:36What are they remaining with?

01:38Zero.

01:38They have nothing.

01:39That is how we as Muslims should look at it.

01:41So the more, the merrier.

01:43It is better.

01:44If you have someone who's really good looking, mashallah.

01:46They come from a good family, alhamdulillah.

01:48They might be wealthy, alhamdulillah.

01:50They have something more, alhamdulillah.

01:51But if they don't have deen and akhlaaq, you remove the one.

01:56You are left with nothing.

01:57You are wasting your time, my brother, my sister.

01:59You will be depressed in that relationship.

02:01La ilaha illallah.

02:06Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
