GE2025: Teo Chee Hean not contesting Pasir Ris-Changi GRC, Indranee Rajah to lead team

Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, 70, announced he will not contest Pasir Ris-Changi GRC on Monday (April 21). Indranee Rajah will lead the PAP team, which includes Sharael Taha, Desmond Tan and new candidate Valerie Lee.

00:10I will continue to support PM Lawrence Wong and his 4G team

00:17and remain available to contribute to the team wherever

00:23and in whatever way that PM Lawrence Wong feels I can best serve.

00:29As I step down as your Member of Parliament in Pasiris,

00:34I do so with full confidence that we have a strong team

00:39ready to serve our Pasiris Changi residents.

00:43Today's introduction is, for me, both poignant and yet exciting at the same time.

00:51It's poignant because it means having to leave the residents of Tanjung Paga GRC,

00:56especially those in the Tanjung Paga Tiongbaru Division.

01:00I've been MP for Tanjung Paga since 2001.

01:04That's 24 years.

01:06Over that time, so many strong bonds have been built

01:10and so many wonderful memories created.

01:13Being fielded as a PAP candidate for the new Electoral Division of Pasiris Changi

01:19brings a new opportunity to serve.

01:22As I'm new to the residents of Pasiris Changi, I should say a few things about myself.

01:28I'm a lawyer by profession and practiced in the private sector for 25 years

01:34before joining Government full-time in 2012.

01:37My focus would be on the residents here.

01:40Your needs, your aspirations.

01:43And I would also look at how to continue to improve this town,

01:47building on the good work that SMTO and 2M Maliki have done.

01:53The Bomber Day is a bit worse, but I'm a good one.
