00:00In the last five years, when I was volunteering with the party, I've been inspired by its dedication, commitment and courage to serve.
00:13And now that I have the opportunity to step up, I am very proud to stand with the team that is working for Singapore.
00:21Thank you and I hope to meet more of you in the coming days.
00:24In my professional capacity, as Sylvia has mentioned, I've been working at the Institute of Mental Health for the past 22 years,
00:34seeing children and adolescent patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
00:42Besides helping my patients cope with their daily struggles in the clinic,
00:47it is also time for me to step up and step forward with the Workers' Party to also address the structural challenges
00:56which affects the mental health of our Singaporeans in Parliament.
01:02I'm also stepping up because I believe I've seen firsthand how policies can impact real people and real lives.
01:09And I want to give voice to those who struggle and do not feel like they can speak up for themselves.
01:15And finally, I'm also stepping up to build a Singapore that embraces experimentation and bold thinking.
01:24These are values that I really hold true to myself and have shaped my life.
01:28And I really want all Singaporeans to feel like they have the liberty and safety net to be able to do so.
01:36After active volunteering with the Workers' Party from 21-8,
01:40the concerns of fellow Singaporeans, the exploration of our future generations,
01:47and having a team of dedicated party leaders, members and volunteers working tirelessly on the ground
01:54inspired me to step up in my golden year to do my part for the betterment of Singapore.
