#FranchizePickOfTheWeek: The Lion King

The Lion King is in theaters now, and Joey Franchize got a chance to see it. Here's his take on it.

00:00Yo, what's good? It's Joey Franchise here, back with another Franchise Top Pick of the Week.

00:07This week, my pick, Lion King. All the hype around Childish Gambino, Beyonce, man, Seth

00:14Rogan. Man, it was a star-studded cast, and I'm not going to lie, they did a really good

00:18job on basically taking the cartoon and turning it into a live action. It was an exact representation

00:26of how the original cartoon back in 94 was, with some minor scenes that they kind of added

00:32and took out. But I gotta say, overall, the movie was a 7 out of 10, in my opinion. Reason

00:39being, is because I didn't have a problem with it at all. There was no problem whatsoever

00:43with the movie. I thought they did right by the original. And the only thing that kind

00:49of bothered me throughout the film was the fact that they can't really see the expressions

00:55on the animal's face. Like, you can't even tell whether they're, like, happy, sad, or

01:00upset about something. But hey, it can't all be perfect. I will say, though, that Beyonce

01:04and Childish Gambino singing Can You Feel the Love Tonight was probably the highlight of the

01:10entire movie. I actually got kind of choked up, because, yo, Beyonce and Gambino, like,

01:14definitely, definitely killed that. Another character that I enjoyed, and I feel that stole

01:19the whole show in the movie, was Pumbaa, who was just played by Seth Rogen. After Seth Rogen

01:24did a real good job portraying that character. I think they couldn't have picked a better

01:28guy to kind of, to play the warthog, you know what I mean? So, salute to Seth Rogen for doing

01:33his thing, playing Pumbaa. Overall, it was a decent movie. I suggest you go see it. Definitely

01:37take the fam out, take your shorty out, whatever the case is. Because it's really cool to see

01:42what, you know, what we saw as kids in cartoon form in live action. So, that's pretty much the

01:48reason why I went, to kind of relive that experience, but just getting a different point of view.

01:53And that is my pick of the week.
