00:00Ladies and gentlemen here, Geek Culture Congress, Speedy Jr. here from the floor of Tampa Bay Comic Con 2019, here with Turner and Torres.
00:11And they're here to talk about their new book.
00:14They've got a couple books out. One is The Coming Future and The Coming World, right?
00:18Yep.
00:19So tell me more about, yeah, let's show people, let's show them that cover.
00:23Show them the cover, yes, both books.
00:26So tell me more about the story, the premise of it, and the 30-second sales pitch. There you go.
00:34Well, our main character, Alec, begins having visions of a big catastrophe coming, and nobody believes it's a kid.
00:40And then all of a sudden it happens, and he's stuck in the middle of trying to pick up the pieces after the disaster and figure out how to find a date for prom and save the city.
00:48Very cool.
00:49First of a five-book series. We're about a third of the way from the third one right now.
00:53Very nice, very nice.
00:55So, what's the inspiration for this story?
01:00Or just from the depths of your mind?
01:02From my perspective, I work with youth ministry.
01:06Okay.
01:06So, I really wanted to write something that could be brilliant, as well as inspirational for the students.
01:14Right.
01:14And for the kids out there, mainly middle grade and high school students.
01:17Right.
01:17That's the purpose.
01:18I mean, I kind of call this story more like Harry Potter meets Chronicles of Narnia with steampunk overtones.
01:24That's what I kind of said to everyone.
