Even though Meltdown wasn't "camera ready" for this week's video there's still plenty to see! He takes a tour around the WRIF building, gets an exclusive confession from Shinedown's Brent Smith, and talks to Rush's Geddy Lee about his friendship with Dave Grohl! Thanks for watching!

00:00Riff TV presents Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:09Well, today I'm just not camera ready and my makeup people apparently called in sick.
00:13So I thought I would just walk around the station and show you guys a little bit of behind the scenes of WRIF.
00:19Like, for example, right here, it's Checkpoint Radio.
00:22What do they do? They play video games and you can watch them do it.
00:26It's actually pretty cool. Check that out on the website at WRIF.com.
00:29Oh, look, there's somebody.
00:31Hey, Meltdown.
00:31Hello. Let's just keep walking down the hallways here.
00:35You can see they're building new studios and stuff, man.
00:37A lot of things going on right here at WRIF.
00:40Let's take a walk down by the gym.
00:42I spend a good amount of time in here.
00:44As a matter of fact, when I'm done, there's no wait left for anybody.
00:49Okay, enough at the gym.
00:51All right, we're back in the studio now.
00:52Look at these killer boards they just put in for us.
00:55I mean, sometimes when I sit behind these boards weekdays between 3 and 7,
00:58I feel like I'm the captain of the space shuttle.
01:02Okay, let's move on to the production studio.
01:04This is where I do my podcasts when I talk to rock stars and whatnot.
01:09Although this past weekend, I was actually on site with Brent Smith from Shinedown.
01:14You can check out the video right here at WRIF.com.
01:17We talked about a lot of things.
01:19I've known Brent for a long time.
01:20Of course, sold out Riff Fest.
01:22Awesome day to talk with Brent Smith.
01:24He actually filled me in on a little secret that I guess he hadn't talked about before.
01:28He actually fell off the wagon a few years back during one of the tours.
01:32Check this out.
01:33The entire touring cycle for Threat to Survival, and we've been friends a long time,
01:38and I can be very candid with you about it,
01:39but that 19 months of touring, that record, Threat to Survival, I had to come back.
01:45That entire cycle, I was withdrawing from a lot of just, I had jumped off such a,
01:54I'd found myself in such a dark place, and I'm surprised I made it out.
01:59You can hear that entire interview on my Talkin' Rock with Meltdown podcast.
02:03Last week, by the way, on the podcast, I had a chance to talk with the legendary Geddy Lee.
02:07I mean, how cool is that?
02:08We talked about his brand new, big, beautiful book of bass.
02:12We talked about touring, about Rush, even Dave Grohl,
02:16who was actually chumming around with him at the premiere of his book signing in Toronto.
02:22So when you were in Toronto doing your book signing, Dave Grohl was chumming around with you, eh?
02:27Yes, he was.
02:29Maybe you should work with him in the future.
02:31Yeah, you never know.
02:32He's a fantastic guy.
02:34I love those guys in the foods, and Dave's a very cool guy.
02:37And his mom and my mom have actually become pals, because his mom, Jenny, wrote this book about Rock Mom.
02:47Right.
02:47And she flew up here to meet my mom, and they really hit it off, and so they've stayed in touch.
02:53And so she was up here doing a talk about her book, and Dave was interviewing her on stage.
03:00So they were in town, so we all got together.
03:02So it was pretty fun.
03:03That's right.
03:04I do remember that.
03:04I'm sure the 15-year-old Dave Grohl can't believe that his mom and your mom are friends.
03:09It's pretty unusual.
03:11It's pretty surreal, I have to say.
03:13We sit there, and we just laugh about it.
03:15Go back and check out some of those interviews and watch the videos and the whole thing.
03:19And most importantly, thank you so much for watching Meltdown's Meltdown.
03:24Maybe next week I'll be a little bit more camera ready.
