00:00Jordan's Bob has a fan page. It's a party. It's so big that you'd have to come twice.
00:14Guys, it's so good to see you both. We're here backstage at the London Coliseum. You've just performed. How are you feeling?
00:22Fine. How are you? Good. Good. That was early. It was early. It was a little bit of a matinee that wasn't expecting a matinee.
00:28Yeah. We haven't done a matinee yet. So that was a little test.
00:33How long does it take you to recover after doing New Money?
00:37Yeah, it's a marathon, isn't it? It's getting shorter. The recovery time's getting shorter as my stamina's building.
00:45So I'd say a couple of minutes.
00:51I never leave stage. From the opening that goes into the scene, which goes into New Money,
00:58because what you guys saw were clips, but I don't leave stage, I think, for the first entire half of Act One.
01:06No.
01:07And then I leave for one song, and then I come back on.
01:10The thing is, is Nick is the audience where, you know, I'm just viewing the entire thing.
01:16So even though I might not be as exertive in my energy, it's definitely just always being present.
01:27Listen, I was exhausted just watching you all. I mean, the production, the costumes, everything about this is so spectacular.
01:34How special does it feel for you guys to be launching it here in London?
01:38I mean, I was really emotional on our opening day. I cried throughout the entire day,
01:43because I think it's very rare that you get to open a brand new musical on the London Coliseum stage with a cast like this.
01:54I just feel like eternally grateful for this opportunity.
01:59Absolutely. This is my West End debut, so I am extremely grateful and excited to be here.
02:03It's only a new dinner, we'll never be a sweet.
02:07There's a party, we can't take the air.
02:10We'll never die, we'll never die.
02:11We'll never die, we'll never die.
02:12We'll never die, we'll try, we'll try, we'll never die.
02:15There's a massive fan base from Broadway, isn't there?
02:17And it ranges pretty wide in terms of age as well.
02:21It's definitely a millennial and a Gen Z following, which is very impressive.
02:27Yeah.
02:28And I think a lot of it has to do with its presence in social media,
02:32but as a show, it definitely speaks to a wider range of audience, which is incredible.
02:39I think like TikTok and all that helps, you know?
02:41And like Dominic Kelly's choreography went viral, The End of New Money.
02:46That, you know, that kind of went all around the world, which is amazing.
02:51And I even noticed that Jordan's Bob has a fan page.
02:56No.
02:56Does it?
02:56Does it really?
02:57Wow, impressive.
02:58Yeah, it does.
02:59And apparently we need to name the Bob, so we'll have to put that to good word.
03:03I'm surprised you haven't yet.
03:04I know.
03:12Do you think, I know TikTok was mentioned earlier by the choreographer as well,
03:15do you think we're in a new era of theatre?
03:17Because like you say, it is bringing in a new, younger audience now.
03:20100%.
03:21I think it's so important.
03:23I mean, you don't do any of your socials, do you?
03:28Between my wife and I, we run it together.
03:30They do it together.
03:30My wife is pretty much the mastermind behind everything.
03:33Yeah, yeah.
03:35It's a full-time job.
03:36Do you know what I mean?
03:37So I feel like, are you on TikTok?
03:40Yes.
03:41You are?
03:41Yes.
03:42I need to follow you.
03:44I've already seen some of your TikToks for this already.
03:46Oh, have you?
03:46What, on the pages?
03:47Yeah.
03:47When you did the new money, recovering after new money.
03:51That one, I've seen it on your page.
03:52Oh, yes.
03:54Corbin, you weren't in that.
03:56We'll have to do one together.
03:57All right, cool.
03:58Sounds good.
03:58Okay, there we go.
03:59We'll do one together.
03:59But do you think the cause of social media in this new age,
04:02that is what is helping bringing new audiences to the West End?
04:05Because I do think there is an appetite for that.
04:08I think so.
04:08Even if you look at, like, Six, and you look at Heathers,
04:12especially in London, like, a lot of that fan base was created online.
04:18It's like people with the same interest come together, don't they?
04:24And they create a fan page or something like that.
04:27So I definitely think we are going to see more of that.
04:32And it's great for us, isn't it?
04:34It is.
04:34I think, you know, it's been, with the dawn of even stuff like Broadway HD,
04:40people who wouldn't even necessarily be able to take the trip to London,
04:44to the West End, or to New York, to Broadway,
04:46to experience that caliber of theater,
04:49you're getting to experience it at home,
04:52and I think it just brings in the audience
04:54and makes people want to go and have that experience,
04:56even if it's just local theater, regional theater.
04:58Yeah, yeah.
04:58And I'm so old.
05:06I want to watch it, like, a million times over and over.
05:08I absolutely love it.
05:09Like, honestly, even from the clips on social media,
05:11seeing it today, I am so excited for it.
05:14But why should people come and see The Great Gatsby?
05:16It's a party.
05:18It is such a wide gamut of emotions and experiences.
05:25Obviously, the book just celebrated its 100th anniversary
05:28since the original publication.
05:30So it is a great American novel.
05:32I've been a fan of the book since I was in middle school
05:36when I first read it.
05:38So the book itself is such a beautiful masterpiece,
05:41and its adaptation is done so well here.
05:44But you get to come.
05:46You get to have the party,
05:48and then you get to hear the voices of the women in this book,
05:54in this particular production,
05:55because that's something that we didn't get in the novel.
05:57And I think that how wonderfully that's done through the music
06:01is just a beautiful experience.
06:04Also, you feel every type of emotion.
06:07We give them a bit of comedy.
06:09We give them the wow factor,
06:11a couple of certain things that happen throughout the show.
06:14There's also heartache.
06:19Absolutely.
06:20We range through everything emotionally.
06:23But also, it's such a big show
06:25that John Robbins said this a couple of weeks ago
06:28that you'd have to come back again
06:31to see it again, to catch more things,
06:33because there's so much going on.
06:35It's a feast for the eyes, you know.
06:37And I think that's really special,
06:39that it's so big that you'd have to come twice.
06:41Well, listen, I'll be there.
06:42More than twice.
06:43It's a party I never want to end.
06:45Thank you so much, guys, and good luck.
06:46I can't wait for opening night.
