00:00Come on, Arsenault.
00:01It was Wonderland in real life.
00:03I have been speaking to, like, the Descendants cast for years,
00:06so it's so nice to, like, get to chat to you guys as well.
00:10Nice to meet you.
00:11You just slot into this film as if you've always been there.
00:15But I know, obviously, you are joining this franchise.
00:18So who kind of, like, took you guys under your wing
00:22and made you feel a proper part of it?
00:24I feel like everyone on set.
00:26But every day on set, like, us coming into this franchise,
00:31everyone had big open arms, you know?
00:33Like, it was such a warm welcome.
00:35And I feel like Kimmy Gatewood had a really big part of this
00:38because she was so mom to us.
00:40And every day she'd be like, what do you guys need?
00:42Like, trying to help us get into our characters.
00:44We'd spend weeks before we started filming,
00:47and she kind of just, like, was helping us prep for everything.
00:50And she's honestly the best.
00:51But everyone on set.
00:52Obviously, we had The Rise of Red.
00:54Now we've got Wicked Wonderland.
00:55Did you guys yourself feel like you had grown?
00:59Not just your characters, like, you yourselves feel like you had grown
01:03in between filming these?
01:05Totally.
01:05I think, like, the best comparison to use would be, like,
01:09coming back to school for your senior year.
01:12I think, like, there was so much life that was lived
01:16between filming Rise of Red to this one.
01:18But then, like, the process is so similar, you know?
01:21It's, like, the same type of wig fittings
01:23and the same kind of rehearsal prep.
01:25So a lot of it did come back second nature.
01:29But, yeah, I think, like, when I was looking at myself
01:31in the mirror with The Red, I was like, okay, something's different.
01:33I feel like there's a level of maturity.
01:37And I think just, yeah, there was a lot of life
01:40that was lived in between.
01:41And I think I learned so much from filming the first one
01:44that I think kind of bringing, you know, everything that I had learned
01:48and kind of even bringing that into the character as well.
01:51I think we can tell with Red this go-around that she's
01:54a much more evolved version of herself,
01:57much more just grounded and empowered.
02:00And it was cool kind of bringing my personal evolution
02:02to the character.
02:03Very cool.
02:04I mean, yeah, you grow up and you...
02:06It was sort of like we were coming back
02:08as camp counselors this time.
02:10And we were, like, getting to welcome new people,
02:12which was so much fun.
02:13And it also was really special because, yeah,
02:15you learn life experiences.
02:16I remember I was 15 when doing, like, the first one
02:20and auditioning for that.
02:21And now getting to see and represent it
02:23with the same love and light and, I guess,
02:26even more respect.
02:26Because within those two years of waiting to come back,
02:30you're in that waiting period, you're anticipating
02:33and so excited for whatever that next chapter will look like.
02:37So it was a real treat being able to be back.
02:39And with those people, it made...
02:41It was Wonderland in real life, too.
02:44Oh, cute.
02:45You obviously all have your characters who you are,
02:48but when you were growing up,
02:49was there any particular Disney characters
02:52that you aligned yourselves with
02:54that you kind of were like, I'm drawn to them?
02:57Oh, my gosh.
02:57You know, I was like every Disney princess growing up.
03:00I have pictures as Cinderella, as Belle, as Snow White.
03:04So I was just always obsessed with Disney.
03:06And then I ended up playing a pirate.
03:08But I think that's very fitting for my personality now.
03:14And to play a villain is so fun.
03:16But, yeah, I've always watched
03:18all the Disney princesses growing up.
03:20I loved Goofy so much.
03:22And I feel like that just fits with my personality as well.
03:25Like, you know, he's just the best.
03:28And also, what's so funny?
03:31I love...
03:31Okay.
03:32And also, I just drew a blank.
03:35But continue.
03:36You are Goofy.
03:37You're definitely giving Goofy.
03:38I feel like I also was really into all the Disney princesses.
03:43They always inspired me.
03:44My favorite was Little Mermaid, Ariel.
03:47She was always my favorite.
03:48I watched it all the time.
03:49But I also was...
03:51I loved the villains.
03:53Surprisingly, like, every time I'd go to Disney,
03:55I would tell my parents, like,
03:56I don't want to meet the princesses.
03:57I want to meet the villains.
03:59So we switch.
04:00We switch.
04:00You swap.
04:01You girls have...
04:02It's just pink and then I just swap.
04:05So...
04:05That's the opposite of manifestation.
04:08That's like...
04:09Yeah, I got it.
04:10Like, anything Disney says, but we'll take it.
04:12Right.
04:13Right.
04:13Exactly.
04:14Like, these shows, these, like, TV shows and films like this,
04:19they just propel you to something else.
04:21I've spoken to so many, like, who were doing, like,
04:23The Lodge on Disney Channel,
04:25who are now in, like, Bridgerton and stuff like that.
04:27Like, it's incredible how far you go.
04:30Are there any, like, of these stars that you look at
04:32and you're like, oh, I'd love to, like, emulate their career?
04:34I feel like Zendaya is someone for me that I'm always like,
04:37you got Casey Undercover, you got Shake It Up,
04:40and then you got Spider-Man Homecoming.
04:42Like, there's just so many with it
04:44that I have a lot of respect for.
04:46Any sort of emulation would be a blessing.
04:48How about you, Kylie?
04:49For me, I would say Sabrina Carpenter.
04:52I think it's been incredible seeing her journey.
04:55She was very much like the Disney girl.
04:58I remember watching her on Girl Meets World
05:00and seeing how she's literally taken over the globe
05:04as a pop star is incredible to see,
05:06and she's had such a beautiful journey
05:09and transformation and evolution.
05:11So, yeah, I would say her.
05:13I literally can't wait to see where you guys go.
05:15Like, it's really exciting, like,
05:17watching people's journeys like that.
05:18So I look forward in years to come to speaking to you guys
05:20and seeing where you're at.
