Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele spoke about a deported prisoner who he says told authorities he'd been arrested and released six times in the U.S.

00:02Yeah, we even had this gang member from Venezuela, one of the ones you sent,

00:07and we interviewed him just to get some information, et cetera, from them.

00:12And he said, oh, well, you know, I got arrested six times,

00:15but they released me that six times, so it should be released again.

00:18And then he said, well, what's the last thing you do?

00:21And he said, well, I shot a cop in the leg, but I didn't kill him.

00:24I just shot him in the leg.

00:26And we're like, this guy was arrested six times here in the United States, six times.

00:31He was released six times, and in the last, no, he arrested at least five times,

00:36and the last time he was sent to El Salvador, right?

00:38So he's not getting released, but the last thing he shot a cop, actually,

00:42and he shot him in the leg.

00:44So these are, you know, like you said, yeah, I mean, yeah, there's something broken.
