Northerners thoughts on Birmingham Bin Strikes

Should bin collections be nationalised and do you agree with the strikes taking place in Birmingham?

00:00Local circumstances and we pay local taxes, that it's okay the way it is.

00:10But if they feel like they should be paid better, they should be free to strike, absolutely.

00:15As long as they're getting one, it's obviously disrupts people's lives and things,

00:18but as long as they're getting what they want and what's fair for them, I think it's fair to do.

00:23It would cause bins to overflow and rubbish could fall out.

00:28And it would affect the life of animals.

00:32Well, I think it's fair for business work, for bin workers to strike if they really have to.

00:39But you have to set that against the backdrop of the cuts in money from central government

00:46to local government for services to be provided.

00:51So councils and local authorities have been under great pressure in recent years.

00:57And that's not going to go away.
