Newcastle United preparing for “big” fixture against Manchester United

00:00Next up for Newcastle United is the visit of Manchester United to St James' Park

00:06Given the fact that they've just beaten Leicester you'd think they wouldn't have to react

00:10but the performance wasn't brilliant

00:11but this is a Manchester United side they should be beating

00:14I'm not saying relatively with ease

00:17although to be fair in the December game

00:19that first half at Old Trafford was sublime

00:23and if they can replicate anything like that at St James' Park on Sunday

00:27then it should be another three points for Newcastle

00:30Yeah, you'd hope so

00:32I think the one factor from that game which will go against them

00:36is obviously Bruno Fernandes, he did miss that one

00:38and he's been there

00:40I think they're only shining light really

00:43I watched them at the weekend against Manchester City

00:46it was a horrendous game

00:47it was two teams that didn't really look up for it

00:49and I think that if Man U come to St James' Park with that similar performance

00:53then hopefully they will get blown away by Newcastle

00:57Yeah, it's another one

01:00because you do talk about Man U and we should be nervous

01:02we should be worrying

01:03but realistically this is, you know, fifth place in the Premier League

01:07against 13th place in the Premier League at home

01:10that's what the stats say, you know, with what, seven games after the season

01:14it should be a home banker

01:15or certainly the home side will go in heavy favourites

01:18you just want them to, you know, show what they did against Liverpool

01:23I know it's hard to replicate their final performance

01:25I don't think they'll ever will

01:25I think that was almost a flawless performance

01:28but you just want them to outrun Man U, outfight

01:31you know, we all remember that Eddie Howe's famous team talk

01:35before the meeting a couple of years ago

01:38and that was at a similar stage of the season

01:40so yeah, there's nothing to fear from Manchester United

01:42there's nothing that they need to worry about

01:43they just need to, you know, make a statement

01:46because if they can get that win against Man U

01:48you know, there will be a team around them

01:50that drops points this weekend, I'm sure

01:51because that's just how it goes

01:53and I said it's all about getting that momentum

01:55for when they come up against harder, you know

01:57harder games towards the end of the season

01:59but for the first time, probably in Asia

02:02I don't think I'm worried about Manchester United

02:03I know last year there was a similar form

02:05heading to St James'

02:06and as you say, you know

02:07you guys were really good on that night

02:09you know, 1-0 flattered Man U by a long way

02:11and they were really good at all Trafford

02:13so yeah, I'm confident of a win

02:15and, you know, it's less of a statement

02:17than it has been in previous years

02:19but in Manchester United at home

02:20but it would be a massive three points

02:22It would be

02:23and it would set them nicely

02:25for the Crystal Palace game as well

02:26and then obviously Villa

02:27you know, it's three games in six days

02:29starting with Man United

02:31so it would just

02:32I know you'll have tiredness and fatigue in that time

02:35but at the same time

02:36confidence momentum also carries you a long way

02:38and it just sets that week off nicely

02:41before the end

02:42obviously get a little bit of a break

02:43to the Ipswich game following that as well

02:45so yeah, it's a huge game

02:48I mean, let's be honest

02:48they're all huge from now until the end of the season

02:50just because of the position they're in

02:52and what they're trying to qualify for

02:53but you have to back them

02:55I think they've shown enough times this season

02:57that as long as they're at it

02:59they can beat anyone

03:00it's just, you just worry that

03:02when they're not at it

03:03they struggle

03:04and I mean, they weren't particularly at it

03:05against Leicester

03:06but Leicester were so poor

03:08they didn't really have to be

03:09I know we've mentioned that already

03:10but I think they'll get a reaction

03:12against Manchester United

03:13simply because of who it is

03:16and I know obviously my United fans

03:18probably love to hear that

03:19because that'll probably

03:20dig them up a little bit

03:21but it's just a case of

03:23what sort of a game it is

03:24but Newcastle I think

03:25will not understand

03:26the importance of the game

03:27and St Neighbors Park

03:29will be a cauldron

03:30on Sunday afternoon

03:31but yeah

03:33it's just

03:34in terms of the end of the season

03:35it's just one where

03:37as I've mentioned already

03:39as long as they keep winning

03:40I mean

04:04could just knock them down

04:05a little bit

04:07because Callum Wilson

04:16so I think Isak's the one worry

04:18that if he does get injured

04:19between now and the end of the season

04:20that could knock them

04:26will be doing everything

04:27they can to keep Isak

04:28on the pitch

04:29I think that's the only way

04:30that this momentum

04:31gets derailed

04:32as an injury

04:33and I think that

04:33they're good enough

04:34certainly in a couple

04:37deal with an injury

04:38to Alexander Isak

04:39but other than that

04:40I think they'll be
