00:00So Chris invited me to go to Enfield, and I live in south-west London.
00:03I've never really been to Enfield before, which is north-west,
00:06north-east, sorry, north-east London.
00:08And anyway, I went to see the game, and then afterwards they said,
00:12do you want to come to Charlie Chan's nightclub,
00:14which was underneath Waltham Store Dobbs?
00:16And I'm like, I don't even know where that is, but I'll come,
00:18you know what I mean?
00:19And I looked round.
00:19You're not turning down anything for Chris Waddle, are you?
00:22You're not turning down Chris Waddle?
00:24No, so the Wednesday players, they had to stay for a meal,
00:27but they were all itching to get away.
00:30And by the time they ordered cabs, I looked round,
00:32and there was only me and Des Walker in jeans.
00:33Everybody else was suited and booted.
00:35And it was that era when nightclubs were a bit funny about what you wore.
00:39So I looked and I thought, if I get turned away from this club,
00:42I've got to be in a cab with Des Walker, because if they turn me away,
00:45they've got to turn Des away, and I'm sure they're not going to turn him away.
00:48And by now, there was a few Spurs players with you,
00:50Paul Walsh, Jason Duzell.
00:51It was a big group.
00:53We get to the club, and the bouncer won't let us in.
00:55He says, no, you can't come in here in jeans.
00:57And Des Walker, you don't hear him talk very often,
01:00but he's really chatting.
01:02And once he starts, he doesn't show up.
01:05This bouncer weren't having it.
01:06He's like, no, you're not coming in, you're not coming in,
01:08I don't care who you are.
01:09Anyway, a lady walks out of the barn, and she went, Des Walker.
01:13And she went, you know who he is?
01:14He went, I don't care who he is, you know what I mean?
01:17So she took us around the corner to her house on a little back street,
01:21and she got us a pair of trousers each from her husband,
01:24and her husband was in bed.
01:25He was asleep, and she put the light on,
01:28and he went, Des Walker.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Yeah.
01:31OK.
01:31I'm back.
