00:00Imre, you joined Wednesday at an interesting time, didn't you?

00:04It was before, I suppose, the glory years that a lot of people remember now, of the 90s.

00:10What was it like when you joined Wednesday and how did that move come about in the first place?

00:14It was funny because I was playing for Newcastle at the time and I was scoring a lot of goals in the No. 9 shirt there

00:21and Arthur Cox came to me in training and said,

00:25we've accepted a bid from Howard Wilkinson at Sheffield Wednesday.

00:29We want you to go and have talks with him.

00:31I said, no, I'm happy here, I'm scoring goals, I'm quite happy here.

00:35So after the fifth time of asking me, I decided to come down to speak to Howard Wilkinson.

00:42So that was a Newcastle thing rather than not wanting to join Wednesday?

00:46At the time, but it was a great move for me in the end.

00:49On the fifth time, I thought, well, the club obviously wanted to accept the transfer fee

00:54and I went to talks with Howard Wilkinson.

00:57I'm trying to think of the old chairman, I can't think of his name.

01:01Can you remember?

01:03No, not at that time.

01:05It was a bit before my time.

01:07So I had talks with Howard and listened to what plans he had and then decided to sign for Sheffield Wednesday.
