We stay at House of Gods Glasgow and try their specialty cocktails

House of Gods was highly anticipated when it opened last year. With the coming of Spring we wanted to try an overnight stay and drink some cocktails in the rooftop bar.

00:00We took a little visit to the House of Gods in Glasgow for an overnight stay.

00:04Situated on Glassford Street in the Merchant City, it is a hotel, bar and restaurant very

00:09unique in its offering. The name itself is immediately suggestive of the kind of experience

00:13you get. The venue is sleek, exciting, extravagant but tasteful. It gives visitors an air of decadence

00:18throughout its facilities and services. It is not just a stop by place to stay or somewhere to go

00:23for a quick drink. I mean of course you can do these things but I would treat it as the focal

00:26point of the evening. There are various rooms at different price points. We stayed in a suite,

00:31a Versailles inspired room described as a hedonistic hideaway for two people. It features

00:36a gorgeous freestanding bath and a four-poster bed. We were given the treat me like I'm famous

00:41package which can be added onto any room. It is very much a treat and definitely enhances

00:46the overall experience. It includes two glasses of Prosecco on arrival and a bottle in the room,

00:52two specialty cocktails that can be shaken at the door, a 40 pound bar tab,

00:55milk and cookies at night, breakfast on the rooftop bar the next morning and a late checkout of 12 pm.

01:04The Sacred Garden is what I was most looking forward to in this visit. A rooftop bar that

01:08has views across the Merchant City. It has a very French chateau feel in its design and a lively

01:14atmosphere even for midweek. We drank gorgeous fruity cocktails from their impressive specialty

01:18menu and watched the sunset. A very refreshing thing to do coming out of winter and entering

01:24spring. We had breakfast here the next morning and the full room glowed in the sunlight.

01:29The food was absolutely delicious as well. I could not recommend this experience enough.
