Jack O'Connell chats with THR at the 'Sinners' premiere and describes how it's hard to put this film into one genre. Plus, he explains what it was like performing musical numbers in the film and describes what fans can expect from '28 Years Later.'

00:00Congratulations on this film. I know Ryan Coogler said that this is much more than just a vampire horror

00:06So, how would you describe this genre and also the other elements at play?

00:11Man I've been dreading this question

00:16It's difficult for me to encapsulate

00:20And that's probably the whole point of this conversation, right

00:24All I can say is whatever you think it is think again

00:30But it guaranteed is a good night out

00:34All day, whenever you're going see it, you know, I also heard there's it's kind of part musical

00:40What can you say about that element of it? Yeah, it's all singing all dancing

00:44Always wanted to do a musical

00:48We had like Ludwig Goransson Serena Goransson

00:52in charge of all of the music

00:55So obviously they're like top-level expertise

00:58In the recording studio a lot. So I was living my best Beyonce life on this one. I'm sad. It's over

01:04Are you are you a tenor? Are you a bass? What would you say in your singing range? Versatile? Yeah, I'm ranging

01:10I'm ranging a little bit of a belt a little bit of a bell. It depends where I am. You know, it's circumstantial

01:18Also, no I said this is more than a vampire horror, but there's been a lot of iconic vampire movies throughout the years

01:24What would you say is one that really changed the game for you?

01:28So I'm a massive Gary Oldman fun. So he's Dracula

01:33Was kind of a little bit I hope I'm not saying too much here

01:38But a little bit of a North Star for me doing this. Yeah. Yeah, but Gary Oldman in general is

01:44You know

01:46For inspiration next up you have 28 years later

01:49What was it like kind of being a part of that cast and what are you excited for fans to see?

01:54Amazing amazing really lucky to to have done this

01:59Gone straight on to 28

02:02Was in good company here. I was on a good company there

02:07So it was amazing it was amazing nice to keep the momentum from this and then on to that and
