'No time to lose': Final call to enrol to vote as poll close draws near

Enrollment to vote at the 2025 federal election closes at 8pm on Monday, April 7, 2025.

00:00We anticipate around about 98% of eligible Australians will be on the roll for this

00:04election, which will be our highest level of enrolment ever in Australia's history.

00:08We are the envy of the world. Our electoral roll is probably the most admired in the world,

00:12and particularly by other Western democracies. We're fortunate that enrolment is compulsory,

00:16and for those that aren't on the roll, please get on the roll. But to have 98% or thereabouts

00:21of people on the roll is absolutely fantastic. It's really easy to enrol. You can do it on your

00:27laptop, on your phone, on the AUC website. It probably takes you about five minutes.

00:32Recently, we've also added a Medicare card as the evidence of identity,

00:35so you don't need a driver's licence or a passport.
