Brownhills shoppers and residents reveal what they love most about their town

Brownhills is a town full of culture, history and lovely people.

00:00Down you walk with the express to start we're down here in Brown Hills for this time's

00:03lovely neighborhood as you can see behind me we've got lovely Jigger who's obviously a major

00:08icon in Brown Hills obviously a big big memorial to the mine in history of the centre of the town

00:13so yeah we're going to be walking around asking asking the local asking some of the residents

00:17some of the shoppers some of the shopkeepers what they think about living in the area

00:20yeah it's quite quiet people are friendly pretty good little centre what's it like what's it like

00:48what's it like being in a cafe around here it's all right like i don't really know too many at

00:55the minute it's my first day back today so but everybody's been polite they've been lovely well

01:01i'm going to pray surely yeah i think it's lovely around here i do really like um brown hills

01:11so what a nice canal walk yeah where i live i live by the canal i do yeah on my balcony you

01:19can see the canal from where i'm where it's a good it's a good view isn't it that's a lovely

01:24view that is especially in the weather like today as well yeah so what's your like what's

01:28your favorite thing about the area then you got you got one favorite thing um the jiggers

01:35how often do you come down here is it like once a few times a week yeah so we're jamie and lottie

01:43obviously where are we uh the jack jigger taylor brown hills high street that's it so uh so yeah

01:49what's the uh obviously we're doing a yeah we're doing lovely lovely neighborhood what's the what's

01:52the best thing about uh best thing about brown hills which is the uh the residents maybe the

01:57shoppers i think i think that the best thing about brown hills although trades not what it

02:01used to be when the market when it was a market and the market was on the best thing about brown

02:05hills is the fact that it still has the community vibe everybody knows everybody um the local the

02:11majority of local business is an independent home so everybody helps each other out um the pub

02:16itself you've got the community feel when everybody gets together on the weekends for

02:19the social events that we have on and as i say everybody helps each other um it's all to the

02:25earth really if you talk about the local people good old good old-fashioned feel of

02:29a local community still in brown hills
