Are Brits being priced out of their summer holidays?

It was found that British travellers are opting for off-season holidays in order to get a food deal. Kirker Travel, a tour operator, reported that bookings for key destinations between January and March were up by 30-40%.

00:22Kirker Travel, a tour operator, reported that bookings for key destinations between January

00:27and March were up by 30-40%.

00:29Paired with that, the operator reported an uptake in travellers checking in cheaper accommodations.

00:36But what are some tips you can consider when trying to save money on your holidays?

00:47So, if you book your parking, your airport parking, at the same time as you book your

00:53could save £217 on average every time you travel, and that's about £650 when you think

01:47Research by TransPennine Express found that two-thirds of Brits are struggling to afford

01:51the price of a foreign holiday.

01:5325% of those polled reported that in 2024 they opted for a UK staycation rather than

01:59a holiday abroad, due to increased costs.

02:02The top destination for UK holidays, according to the Rail Operators Research, are the Lake

02:08District, York and Edinburgh.

02:10Some other tips you can consider in order to save money on your holidays include booking

02:15which recommends booking flights two months in advance.

02:19Furthermore, booking early means you can keep abreast of some of the better deals available
