As travel costs soar, The Telegraph reports that middle-class Brits are being priced out of summer getaways. We ask locals if they’re feeling the pinch, and what alternatives they’re considering this year.

00:05well people like myself it's very difficult to get a job. I'm 21 I don't

00:10have a massive amount of experience behind me so it's very difficult for me

00:13to pay for stuff without aid or assistance so yeah definitely.

00:20We're not actually having a holiday this year because we're buying a house so

00:25instead we're having to look at staycations that's it.

00:28Especially for those who've got like children and can only go in school

00:31holidays I think it's absolutely ridiculous. I tend to go and I tend

00:36to book last-minute things now and just go like on a few and on like a

00:40three four day thing instead rather than go in for like a week it does work out a

00:46lot better and I've got started going on my own as well now so yeah.

00:50No I'm not being priced out and I haven't considered anywhere else to

00:57where I normally go.
