00:14Ng Tze Chieh, an assistant professor at New Era University College,

00:18said that although the MCP was predominantly composed of Chinese members,

00:22there was also a significant representation of Malays and Indians.

00:27He said the MCP included an Indian regiment, albeit for a short time,

00:31while the Malay regiment remained active until the end of its struggle in 1989.

00:56Ng said that the MCP's vision included liberating the Malays from feudalism,

01:25Indians from harsh labor in the estates, and Chinese from Confucian patriarchy.

01:29However, these struggles were rarely discussed in mainstream discourses.
