Trump: Got Indian Tariff Cut By Half In Just Two Minutes

Mr Trump is at it again. This time he said it took him just two minutes to get India to cut tariffs on American motorcycles by half.

00:00I'd go down, look at motorcycles as an example, India, 50 percent, it was 100 percent.

00:26So I'll be talking a lot about this over the next period of time.

00:30And I want to just thank the incredible people, all friends of mine.

00:35They are, this is a very early meeting, this is the beginning of something I think that's

00:39going to be very important for our country.

00:42And I look forward to discussing it.

00:43They did a chart right here where, as an example, and these are not big abuses, go down, look

00:52at motorcycles as an example, India, 50 percent, it was 100 percent.

00:58I got them down to 50 percent just by talking for about two minutes.

01:02But it's still 50 percent versus 2.4 percent.

01:05Again, other than that, it's a very fair deal.

01:08And something like whiskey from India and other things from India, India is a very high

01:13tariff, they charge us a lot of tariffs, but you look at whiskey.

01:17So India gets 150 percent and we get nothing.

01:23I will tell you that those are just a few of the products.

01:26It's actually much worse than that, as bad as that sounds.

01:29And all we're saying, if you're going to charge us 150 percent, we're going to charge you

01:33150 percent.

01:34And what will happen in many cases is we'll both charge each other nothing.

01:38Or we'll get 150 percent.

01:40That's okay too.

01:42I spoke to a couple of senators about this that aren't really into this stuff, and they

01:46said, hey, sounds fair to me.

01:50And a lot of people think it's fair.

01:53We have to get foreign countries to respect us again, both militarily and on trade.

02:00And I tell you, we have come a long way in two years.

02:02It's a whole different ballgame.
