00:00The Department of Agriculture or DA has tripled the rice purchase limit for vulnerable sectors

00:05including senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents, and indigents under the 29 pesos

00:13rice program. Previously limited to 10 kilos, beneficiaries can now buy up to 30 kilos.

00:19This initiative with a 5 billion peso budget aims to ease food costs and help farmers by

00:26increasing rice purchases. The government is also supporting farmers with trucks for easier

00:31rice transport and a new rice processing complex to reduce spoilage and maintain quality.
