00:10Since the start of the war, the donation point has continued to provide meals.

00:16Of course the situation was difficult in the beginning, and providing the necessary supplies

00:21to people was a challenge.

00:24But the situation has improved a lot.

00:29Many volunteers assist here daily.

00:32Just a few blocks away, fierce fighting rages between the army and a powerful paramilitary

00:38group.

00:39We've remained here since the start of the war and haven't left despite all the circumstances.

00:45The conflict in Sudan, pitting Sudan's army against the rapid support forces, has triggered

00:51a massive humanitarian crisis.

00:53The UN reports that over two-thirds of the population now need health care, food or other

00:59emergency aid.

01:01UNICEF says 3.3 million children are at risk of severe malnutrition.

01:08Already 12 million people have been displaced by the civil war, and the latest developments

01:12have forced even more people to move, bringing even greater challenges for already pressured

01:17aid organizations.

01:19Populations are returning to those places where there is nearly no more public services

01:25available and where the health care system is completely collapsed, so there will be

01:31a lot to be done there.

01:33On Friday, Sudan's army recaptured the presidential palace in Khartoum from the paramilitary forces

01:40as part of a bigger counter-offensive in central Sudan.
