00:00My name is Hayley, I'm Brit's fiancee, and I'm sure most of you have heard about Princess Salt.

00:06My postback is circulating on Facebook, and we cannot thank you enough for your turnout today.

00:11Just one person was enough, and to have your audience, we're very grateful.

00:16We are just two everyday queer mums that are trying to back down the stories in school for the world,

00:21and big ups for trying to organise a rally to make a change.

00:26We need to raise the next generation.

00:29We, as mothers, feel it's our duty to ensure the next generation are instilled with the attitudes and behaviours

00:36that will make violence against women, or any gender diverse person, a thing of the past.

00:41Let's demolish this notion of, he's only picking on you because he likes you, or over here you're a joke.

00:50Let's teach our children about consent, and to not ship girls.

01:03Sorry guys.

01:08Because those girls grow up into women and gender diverse people,

01:13and the ideology that that's okay because it's just always happened.

01:20When we asked the kids what we're going to do on Sunday, one of our 8 year old twins said,

01:24we're making chocolate chip cookies, and we said sorry that's Saturday,

01:27and he goes, oh yeah it's Sunday but we're changing the world, and that's what we're really trying to do.

01:38We actually made that one proud.

01:41I would like to share my experiences of assault throughout my life,

01:45because as a friend said, we are not nameless and faceless, and we shouldn't hide or be ashamed.

01:54My very first experience of being assaulted was when I was at high school,

01:58at a friend's party, drinking on the weekend, and my friend sexually assaulted me saying,

02:04it's fine because you won't remember anything.

02:09I was then in a domestic violence relationship, being loved on and falling pregnant,

02:14constantly being gaslighted that everything was my fault.

02:19And then a year later, I was putting my child into his car seat, in my car, out front of my house,

02:25when a man pulled over, and he got out of the car, and he sexually assaulted me,

02:31as I was putting my child in the car.

02:34Lucky enough, the neighbour across the road had CCTV footage to capture it, and to put it into police.

02:43When, as women and gender diverse people, do we lose that last sentence?

02:49I'm so lucky there was proof. I'm so lucky that somebody got it on camera.

02:55That just needs to stop, period.

02:59I would really like to thank all those incredibly brave women and gender diverse people

03:03that emailed in to us with their stories.

03:06I would just like to really bring up the stats to light.

03:09No names would be attached because of privacy purposes.

03:13Five submitted sexual harassment.

03:19Twenty-two submitted sexual assault.

03:22Twelve submitted rape.

03:24Six submitted coercive control.

03:27Eighteen reported physical assault.

03:30Four reported domestic violence.

03:34Three reported financial abuse.

03:37Six submitted grooming.

03:39Six submitted emotional abuse.

03:42And four submitted stalking.

03:45A total of 17 offences were emailed to us.
