00:07be distributed to the people more effectively, says the Federation of Malaysian Consumers
00:12Associations.
00:13FOMCA CEO T. Saravanan said the identity card, equipped with a smart chip, can reduce the
00:20processes applicants have to go through to apply for welfare aid, including the submission
00:25of physical documents.
00:27He cited how recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahma and Sumbangan Asas Rahma need only furnish
00:33the details in their MyCard for their applications to be processed.
00:37According to the National Registration Department, the MyCard introduced in 2001 can be quickly
00:43and securely accessed to carry out various electronic transactions, from identity verification
00:49to payments.
00:50Its safety features include authentication via symmetric cryptographic keys, as well
00:55as a multi-layered operating system with a firewall.
00:59Saravanan suggested that the MyCard could be used in the government's targeted RON95
