00:01A former aide to ex-economy minister, Rafizi Ramli, has slammed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for issuing a public
00:09search notice to locate him, calling it excessive and potentially defamatory.
00:14Chai Jin Shun, also known as James Chai, said the notice included the address of his childhood home where his
00:21parents lived, exposing them to unnecessary danger, something he said he will never forgive the authorities for.
00:27In a statement, he said the authorities could have asked his friends or his former colleagues in government.
00:34He also said they could have emailed or messaged him on social media or LinkedIn to find out what he
00:39is currently doing.
00:41Chai, who is working in the UK, said the public search of peers intended to portray him as a fugitive
00:47with something to hide.
00:50Chai was a special functions officer to Rafizi when the Pandan MP was the economy minister.
00:55He left the ministry after Rafizi resigned as minister last May.
