Viking horn returns

The Canberra Raiders had a special Vikiung horn made for their season opener in Las Vegas. They decided to bring it home as a souvenir and will mount it in the front office of their Braddon headquarters.

00:00Unwrapped like a Christmas present, the Viking Horn is finally home.

00:09Yeah, it was a unique time. It was amazing to do that Viking Club over there.

00:13We never thought we'd bring it back. We thought we were going to leave it over there,

00:15but such a good win, such a great experience for everybody.

00:18Everyone will remember where they were when that was blown in Vegas,

00:20so we probably mount it here somewhere and maybe unveil the history of the Viking Horn and the Viking Club.

00:27As soon as we knew it was going to be our home game, we looked at taking ours over there,

00:31but it was problematic, and then we found this supplier in Las Vegas

00:36who was confident they could make one up almost exactly like the specs that we had

00:40when it was originally built out in Gundagai 12 years ago,

00:43so we thought we'll use it, use it once, leave it over there.

00:47But it was such a good memento, it wasn't hard to bring back, so we thought we'd leave it here.

00:54Readers, fans have embraced the Horn and the Viking Club.

00:58Yeah, it's become a real call to action, and again, if you stand up near that horn before kick-off,

01:03so many people walk up to it and get a photo with it.

01:05It's like they've visited Canberra Stadium, that's where they go and get a photo, so it's really cool.
