00:00The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has issued a stark warning.
00:05The era of peace in Europe is over. She stated that Russia is preparing for a future confrontation
00:11with European democracies. And with the U.S. shifting its focus to the Indo-Pacific,
00:16Europe can no longer rely on its old security architecture.
00:20To counter the growing threat, Europe is ramping up defense efforts.
00:24Brussels is planning to send Ukraine 2 million artillery shells,
00:27air defense systems, and strike missiles. This is part of what von der Leyen calls
00:32the steel porcupine strategy, making Ukraine indigestible to aggressors.
00:37But that's not all. Europe is also rearming itself with an 800 billion euros plan,
00:42including 150 billion euros in defense-related loans.
00:47All 27 EU countries have approved this initiative, reinforcing their military capabilities.
00:53Von der Leyen's message is clear.
00:55Europe must be ready because the age of power competition is back.
