00:27The Department of Transportation, or DOTR, has announced that the rehabilitation of EDSA has
00:33been moved to April instead of March. This was confirmed by DOTR Secretary Vince Dizon,
00:39citing the ongoing finalization of project plans. As part of the preparations,
00:44advisories will be issued to motorists and commuters who regularly pass through EDSA.
00:57The DOTR is also set to meet with the Department of Public Works and Highways,
01:08the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and other government agencies to ensure the smooth
01:13implementation of the rehabilitation project. Authorities are also preparing for the potential
01:18increase in traffic congestion once the project begins.
01:27The complete rehabilitation plan is expected to be released to the public next week. Meanwhile,
01:33the EDSA busway concourse at a mall on EDSA North Avenue, Quezon City has been opened to
01:38the public. The concourse, donated by a private company, aims to provide a comfortable, accessible,
01:44safe, sustainable, and affordable transportation system in line with DOTR's objective.
