In the first round of voting,Horst Köhler was reelected as Germany's federal president - albeit by the narrowest of margins. For five more years,he'll serve as Germany's head of state. Köhler even received a vote from a member of t he Green Party. Both conservatives and the FDP drew strength from the reelection of their conservative candidate,particularly in light of the general elections in September. We'll take a look at the effects of the election of Horst Köhler and try to predict what the German president will focus on in his second term.
