Congo reports more than 8,000 dead this year due to rebel uprising in eastern part of the country

More than 8,500 people have died this year in the Democratic Republic of Congo as Rwandan-backed M23 rebels have seized unprecedented amounts of territory in the country's mineral-rich east, the Congolese prime minister said Monday. teleSUR
