00:00The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, CARAGA,

00:04is assisting fishermen in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte.

00:08The details are reported by Mar Yesh Saledena of the Philippine Information Agency, CARAGA.

00:16Fishermen from 11 provinces in the province of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte

00:21will have diversified income and sustainable livelihood

00:25as beneficiaries of the Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency Project, or FISHCORP,

00:29of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, or BIFAR, CARAGA.

00:33With the help of FISHCORP, policemen in fishing will be able to build infrastructure and facilities for fishing,

00:40giving livelihood projects to fishermen and others.

00:44According to Reynald Jimena, Assistant Technical Coordinator of BIFAR, CARAGA,

00:48they are currently continuing their process for the Milkfish Ubangos Production Livelihood Project

00:54in the town of Bunavista, Nasipit, Magallanes, Cabadbaran, and Tubay, in Agusan del Norte.

00:59Isagani Indensha, Fisheries Coordinator of LGU Magallanes, is also grateful

01:04because with the help of FISHCORP, fishermen will have an alternative livelihood

01:09if there is no fish season in their area.

01:12If there is a fish season, of course, they will have a lot of fish to eat.

01:15I will pick this if there is an alternative income for them.

01:23The BIFAR FISHCORP project will be implemented within seven years,

01:27and the LGU beneficiaries are hoping that it will strengthen the fishing industry in the CARAGA region.
