00:00With the help of the Capital Express Program,

00:02the hog racers in Ilocos Norte were able to rise again

00:05affected by the ASF.

00:07The Provincial Government replaced

00:09the dead pigs with goats and chickens.

00:13Rani Dorilag of Radyo Pilipinas,

00:15was there for the national news.

00:19We used to raise pigs.

00:21But because we're the ASF,

00:24this is the government's replacement for us.

00:29Father Efren returned to raising goats

00:32after the pigs died from African Swine Fever.

00:36He is grateful to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte

00:40for helping them.

00:43Under the Capital Express Program,

00:45the various programs of the province

00:48were combined for the affected hog racers.

00:50460 goats were given

00:53while 3,000 free-range chickens

00:55were gradually received by the beneficiaries.

00:58All of our animals are really comfortable

01:01and profitable for your family.

01:04Rest assured, we will do everything

01:06that we can for you.

01:08Based on the data of the Provincial Veterinary Office of the province,

01:12more than 200 hog racers were affected by the ASF

01:15while more than 1,600 pigs

01:18underwent the culling operation

01:20in the fourth quarter of 2024.

01:22Meanwhile, aside from the hog racers,

01:25grocery items were also received,

01:27school supplies, agri-inputs,

01:28and free medicines were given to senior citizens,

01:31PWDs, students, and farmers

01:34under the Capital Express Program of Ilocos Norte.
