00:00Their interest in buying NFA rice made it public that there are a lot of LGUs in Camarines.

00:06This is in order to lower the price of rice in the market.

00:11Vanessa Nieva Paz of Radyo Pilipinas, Naga, has a national news report.

00:19The National Food Authority itself went down and contacted the local governments in Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte

00:27for the sale of NFA rice.

00:30In a statement of Radyo Pilipinas, Naga, NFA Camarines Sur OIC Manager Marvyn Malabanan said

00:36that they immediately took action after the Food Security Emergency of the Department of Agriculture was declared

00:43in order to stop the price of rice from rising in the market.

00:46We are giving them three days to inform us if they are interested or not,

00:51or how much they will buy, and then we will be giving them the MOA.

00:55And then they can pay so that the rice can be sold.

00:59As of now, a lot of LGUs have expressed their interest in buying rice from NFA.

01:05Marvyn explained that the 25,000 sacks of rice that were sold in Camarines Sur

01:11will be divided depending on the size of the population of a place.

01:16If NFA Camarines Sur insures that there is a sufficient stock of rice in their warehouses,

01:21that is why the people who will buy rice are just waiting for NFA rice to be available,

01:27especially since it is a big help to their daily expenses.

01:32Poor people, no one can afford to buy rice at a high price,

01:35so I will give you rice at a low price.

01:37Actually, that is what the people are hoping for, for the price to go down.

01:43These actions are one of the policies of the government,

01:48in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

01:51to give rice to the Filipinos as much as they can.
