00:00It's about to cost you more to drop off and pick up people outside Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
00:06It's been revealed that from March 5th, the price it costs to use the express drop-off car park at the Speak Airport will increase.
00:14Currently, drivers pay £5 for 10 minutes waiting time opposite the terminal building.
00:19From next week, the airport will raise its tariff by £1.
00:22The short-term provision is the only rate being impacted by the change.
00:26In a statement, a Liverpool John Lennon Airport spokesperson explained why the fees are increasing.
00:31The spokesperson said the charges to this car park have remained unchanged for over two years and remain in line with those at many UK airports.
00:40They continued that the airport is currently investing heavily in new and improved passenger facilities
00:45and is facing rising operational costs following the plans to increase national insurance and the minimum wage which are being applied to all businesses
00:54and we're doing all we can to minimise the impact of these increased costs for passengers.
