00:00The multi-lane free-flow toll system will not completely resolve traffic congestion on highways but will significantly alleviate the issue.
00:10This is what MyMobilityVision founder Wan Agil Wan Hassan told FMT after the Public Accounts Committee said the system would not resolve congestion issues and called for a thorough cost-benefit analysis of the 3.46 billion ringgit project.
00:27Wan Agil said that while he agreed the MLFF alone is not a silver bullet for all congestion issues, he believed it would significantly reduce congestion and tollbooths and contribute to an overall smoother traffic flow.
00:42He said without physical tollbooths, vehicles would be able to maintain a more consistent speed, which would drastically reduce localized bottlenecks.
00:52Wan Agil said the MLFF should be seen as a vital component within a holistic traffic management strategy rather than the sole solution to highway congestion.
01:03MDS Consultancy Managing Director Rosli Khan also supported the MLFF, saying it would reduce travel time and lower operational costs for toll operators.
