00:00The Ministry of Transport is concerned about the activities of the syndicate that offers
00:07the rental of tyre or replacement tool for the purpose of manipulation of vehicle inspection
00:12clearance at Puspakom.
00:13This issue is an irresponsible action and has a bad effect on the safety, road safety
00:21and integrity of the vehicle inspection system that is carried out.
00:27The Ministry of Transport is concerned about the tyre replacement system that is in accordance
00:31with the law and must be carried out in order to meet the inspection requirements.
00:35However, the problem arises when there is a manipulation where the tyre that has met
00:40the inspection requirements is replaced with an old or unsafe tyre after the inspection
00:45is completed.
00:46In this matter, the Ministry of Transport will study the existing legal framework to
00:51determine if there is room to violate the law or the existing regulations regarding
00:58strict action on or penalties against any parties involved in the activity of renting
01:05or using the tyre replacement tool during the inspection at Puspakom.
01:10At the same time, the Ministry of Transport through the Road Transport Agency will work
01:17closely with the relevant enforcement agencies, including the Ministry of Domestic Transport
01:22and Kos Sarahidup, as well as the Malaysian Royal Police, to carry out joint enforcement
01:27against the ecosystem involved in this syndicate, including suppliers, shops that offer tyre
01:33rental services, middlemen, i.e. rentals, and owners of stolen vehicles.
01:38In addition, the Ministry of Transport through the JPC will carry out enforcement against
01:43heavy vehicles by carrying out emergency inspections at strategic locations after the vehicle
01:50inspection at Puspakom.
01:52The continuation of the operation carried out by the Road Transport Agency at Puspakom
01:58last year, the Ministry of Transport has worked closely with the SPRM on one of the actions
02:04of the Puspakom vehicle inspection officers.
02:07This case is being investigated under the SPRM Act 2009.
02:18As many as 20 vehicle inspectors have been questioned.
02:23Of the 20 people, 13 of the officers investigated have been taken action by the Puspakom
02:30who have been fully responsible.
02:33That is what is currently happening and what has been done on those vehicles.
