00:00The Philippines will face a new protest against China

00:03following the latest incident in the West Philippine Sea.

00:06This is Patrick De Jesus of PTV in Balitang Pampansa.

00:1540 minutes later, the Chinese military helicopter

00:18accessed the Caravan Plane of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources

00:22that is carrying out a maritime domain awareness flight

00:25in the Scarborough Shoal this Tuesday.

00:31This is also the first time that a dangerous helicopter

00:34has operated and reached up to 3 meters

00:37until it flew above the BIFAR airplane.

00:41The Philippine Coast Guard said

00:43this is the most dangerous Chinese attack

00:47in the West Philippine Sea that happened in the air.

00:50Just a few waves with that close proximity

00:57can lead to disaster.

01:01Helicopter dangerous action

01:04was considered to be at some point

01:08higher level of escalatory action

01:10compared to the past harassment that they did.

01:13But the PLA Southern Theater Command of China

01:16defended their move

01:19that was in accordance with the law and regulation

01:22which was returned by the PCG.

01:24We have sovereignty over the waters of Bajo de Masinlo.

01:29That is actually our territorial airspace.

01:33If you're going to ask me who is the one

01:36carrying out such aggressive and illegal actions,

01:39that will only be the People's Republic of China.

01:41A new diplomatic protest was held by the Philippines

01:45against China.

01:46The government also reiterated the sovereignty of the country

01:50in the West Philippine Sea.

01:52The mere fact that we can fly and sail in these waters

01:56highlights the fact that we are asserting

01:59our sovereignty and sovereign rights.

02:01So despite of the harassment of the PLA Navy helicopter

02:06and even the presence of the China Coast Guard vessels,

02:08the Philippine Coast Guard together with BFAR

02:11are standing firm in asserting our position

02:14in this body of water.

02:16The National Maritime Council called

02:18the Chinese helicopter's actions unprofessional and dangerous.

02:23The National Maritime Council added that

02:25they are just showing their carelessness in flight safety,

02:30especially when it comes to the safety of the BFAR aircraft.

02:34The National Maritime Council warned China

02:37that the international law should be upheld

02:39and that it should be responsible

02:41and that it should avoid accidents

02:43that could affect the peace and order of the country.

02:46The U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines,

02:49Mary Kay Carlson, also issued a condemnation

02:51for the recent harassment of China

02:53and that it should implement the international law.

02:58Meanwhile, the PCG, the Philippine Information Agency,

03:05and the National Youth Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding

03:07to advance the fight of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.

03:12This includes the expansion of youth awareness

03:15when it comes to the issue of WPS

03:18and the fight against any disinformation.
