00:00The first batch of NFA rice has been distributed to the remaining LGUs.

00:04The Agriculture Department believes that this will help lower the price of rice in the market.

00:17The turnover of rice was made by the National Food Authority to local government units

00:22that showed interest in getting NFA rice

00:25following the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.

00:29The Department of Agriculture issued a notice through the Food Terminal Incorporated or FTI

00:34to distribute rice to local governments.

00:38This will help lower the price of rice in the market

00:40and expand the NFA warehouses

00:43to allow local farmers to enter the market.

00:4767 LGUs have already signified their interest in buying NFA rice.

00:52These include San Juan, Valenzuela, Navotas, and Camarines Sur.

00:56NFA rice is sold for P33 per kilo to LGUs

01:00while it can be sold by LGUs, government agencies, and GOCCs to MAMI-MILI for P35 per kilo.

01:08The local government of San Juan City and Camarines Sur has decided

01:12that they will not allocate P2 for logistics expenses.

01:16That is why they will sell the remaining P33 per kilo to the masses.

01:20As of now, NFA rice has sold 1,000 orders to the warehouse in Valenzuela.

01:25The NFA rice target to be sold by the DA is 150,000 metric tons within six months.

01:30Meanwhile, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued a large fund

01:35to buy rice from local farmers.

01:38We have agreed with the NFA Council that we will buy rice this year, 2025,

01:44for a minimum of P23 per kilo and it can reach P30 per kilo depending on the market.

01:51Our beloved President, President Bongbong Marcos,

01:55has also allocated P9 billion for us to buy rice from our farmers.

02:02This fund has been added since last year.
