00:00Comelec was able to destroy the unused bags in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

00:13Naomi, as you know, I'm outside the Comelec Warehouse here in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

00:18And inside this warehouse are 6 million unused bags.

00:30It is expected that the unused bags will be destroyed today in Halalan 2025.

00:36These are the bags that were first printed by Comelec before the Supreme Court's decision

00:42that there are additional names that will be added to the bags.

00:46On January 17, the transfer of unused bags from the National Fritting Office

00:54to the Comelec Warehouse in Santa Rosa, Laguna began.

00:57Comelec Spokesperson, Rec. Claude Janco, witnessed the transfer of bags here in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

01:08Every day, Comelec sends one to two trucks to transfer 3 tons of unused bags.

01:17The bags that will be destroyed went through a physical check

01:21because the bags need to be machine-readable.

01:24Comelec will only send good quality bags to Miru.

01:28The bags will be disposed of under the Paper Recycling Melting Process

01:34as per the Rules and Procedures of the National Archives of the Philippines.

01:38The bags will probably be saved by Comelec

01:41and it will not be used in the upcoming Halalan.

01:47If you can remember, Comelec wasted 6 million official ballots for the upcoming Halalan of 2025

01:54because of the Supreme Court's order to the Commission

01:57to add the name of Isobel Mustafa to the list of senatorial candidates in the bags.

02:02This morning, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia and Commissioner Ray Gulay

02:09are expected to witness the disposal of 6 million bags.

02:14This is the latest update from Santa Rosa, Laguna.
