The National Under 20 female footballers who are days away from the start of the CONCACAF Under 20 qualifiers.

The team is coached by former player Dernell Mascall and she believes here young team has what it takes to revive women's football.

00:00Two days away from the start of the women's under-20 CONCACAF qualifiers and
00:04confidence is high in the Trinidad and Tobago camp. The national team will
00:09face Bermuda in their opening match on Friday from 7 p.m. followed by Dominica
00:13on Sunday and Canada in their last match on Tuesday. Coach of the team Danelle
00:19Maskell says the team has the right mix of players. I think that was ideal for us
00:25particularly seeing some of these 17 step up and they are now a part of the
00:31U-20s basically because of their performance at that tournament gone.
00:37There are high expectations for this current crop of players. Maskell went as
00:42far to say that they can revive the hype in women's football. They are a bunch that
00:47the fans I think would love. They would love to see play. We could compare them
00:53to the the era where we had Mullen and Yaya and Tasha St. Louis and they when
00:59we actually had the fans rallying behind women's football I think this group they
01:03can bring that back first. So when we look at the composure the composition of
01:07this team we have Soleil and Borneo who they are no strangers to representing
01:15Trinidad and Tobago. They've been in the U-17 pool and are now eligible for
01:2120s. So they did their step up and we have the likes of Martin, Archer and
01:29Shireen. They were exceptional in the U-20s so we expect them now to
01:36join and play a very pivotal role as we move on to this tournament here.
01:41Players Calypso Ayung and Oriel Martin summed up their objectives. I think we're
01:47all going in with really high spirits. We've really been bonding as a team
01:50really well. We were in camp this weekend we go back into camp tonight. I think
01:54that we know what the task at hand is and we know what we have to achieve. We
01:58know how hard it's gonna be but we're also very determined and I think that's
02:02the best quality that we have out how determined we are and how close we are
02:06as a team. We're looking to attack, no defensive. We want to stay in the
02:12attacking field always. We want to keep everything in the attacking field because we
02:16want to come out on top.
