00:00Penang DAP chief Stephen Sim has downplayed an incident in which he was heckled at an

00:07event by an aid to party chairman Lim Kwan Eng.

00:12Sim said the incident, which has since led to calls for disciplinary action against the

00:17aid, identified as Tan Khong Chong, was merely a storm in a teacup.

00:23He also said he has known Tan for the longest time and described him as a loyal DAP member.

00:31Sim said he did not wish to prolong the issue and urged party members to move on from the

00:36matter.

00:39Tan has since apologised to Sim and the party for the incident.

00:43Last night, Malaysia Kini reported that the aid hurled a vulgar insult at Sim at a dinner

00:49to honour DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.

00:53Witnesses said the man called Sim a traitor and accused him of attempting to undermine

00:59Kwan Eng.

01:00Earlier today, the youth divisions of Batu Kawan and Bukit Mertajam DAP called for disciplinary

01:07action to be taken against Tan.
