00:00Actually, in Huawei Cloud, we have a philosophy so-called everything-as-a-service,
00:07starting from infrastructure service.
00:09So our strategy is that we will build the best infrastructure across the whole global.
00:16You know, Huawei has been doing business in this region since more than 20 years ago.
00:22We started our business actually not in the consumer market,
00:27but each business has a different business model.
00:31In our business, we're used to, especially in the carrier business,
00:36we don't need the same level of brand awareness as our consumer business.
00:42That's why it only became recently on the consumer.
00:47And the 5G is another story because of the external issues.
00:53It's being put on the spot.
00:55Everybody came to know that Huawei is the leader in 5G.
01:00So what I'm saying is, for Huawei, our business came from the 2B business,
01:07and that still remains one of the most important businesses in our portfolio.
01:13And of course, the consumer remains another sector.
01:17It's being very diversified.
01:20Let's come to the cloud.
01:21In general, we as Huawei, we believe there is an insight to how we see the world.
01:30We believe in the next few decades,
01:33digitalization will more profoundly change the whole world.
01:39Today, you see new technology coming every day, but we think that's only the beginning.
01:45New technology, including artificial intelligence, data-driven economics,
01:51will profoundly change the whole world.
01:54That's one.
01:55And second, we believe to reach the ultimate goal of a real intelligent world,
02:05digital infrastructure is the foundation.
02:09And to be more precise, cloud technology, cloud platform is their foundation that we're talking about.
02:16I believe cloud itself is part of the infrastructure.
02:20If you see, not only providing computing storage capability,
02:25but more importantly, the latest IT technology came from cloud,
02:30not came from the traditional IT company now.
02:34Or if you see the latest breakthrough into database,
02:40into artificial intelligence, into the most one service,
02:45they all came from as a cloud service.
02:47This change not only because of the business model,
02:51but also come to today, the data volume we're handling or processing
02:57and the consistency between different systems require a really strong and big capacity
03:04and also processing capability, which ultimately came to a cloud platform.
03:10In most of the countries in the region, we have been operating business for more than 20 years.
03:14When we break through in the country, we stayed there,
03:19we became a most important partner of the whole country as an ICT vendor.
03:26Come to the cloud, yes, the answer is definitely yes.
03:30We are increasingly investing into the whole region.
03:35In UAE, we have our Abu Dhabi region already launched.
03:38And in Saudi, we are on the final stage to finalize about where to put our data center.
03:47The cloud technology model is very different from any traditional.
03:51Basically, we call it DevOps.
03:54On the software side, we have patches and updates every day.
03:59And when we expand, we have a very systematic plan to upgrade or expand by every quarter.
04:10It's not like you build the infrastructure, five years, you upgrade it to a new version.
04:16No, because the key of the cloud service is elasticity.
04:22So, we usually have a threshold that when we reach it, we have to make a whole expansion plan.
04:31And that is being automated as well.
04:33Huawei has invested heavily into technology.
04:37Last year, we invested more than $24 billion.
04:42One of the highest.
04:43In fact, because different countries have different figures on status.
04:48According to Germany, we are number two.
04:51We have invested across all industries in the world.
04:56And we keep investing heavily because we believe that in the future,
05:03only technology advancement can make us bring real value to our customers.
05:08And that's the only reason Huawei exists.
05:10And I want to add a few more.
05:14When you present as a cloud service provider,
05:19there is a whole shared responsibility between a cloud service provider platform and the tenant.
05:26For example, as Huawei Cloud,
05:30we have done to the most extent to ensure data security of our tenant.
05:37It's a shared responsibility because the tenant has his own system.
05:41He has an application.
05:42He will design his application as secure as he can.
05:45But as a platform,
05:48from all the way from the reliability to availability to durability on data,
05:55we have gone all the way.
05:58And there is a difference.
05:59I want to explain a little bit on the difference between reliability, availability and durability.
06:04In terms of reliability,
06:06when we build our platform hardware and software,
06:10we're trying to use the best breed of our component,
06:15both software and hardware,
06:17which means to prevent any component from failure.
06:22But every component will eventually fail.
06:25This cannot prevent it from happening.
06:27When a component happens,
06:30then it comes to a service availability.
06:33For example, in data storage, in our object storage,
06:36today we are providing 99.5% availability,
06:42which means a whole year,
06:45you have a downtime of 26 minutes,
06:48which means even when you have a component failure,
06:52we still have a redundancy to ensure the highest availability of the service.
06:57But like I said, there is no system that is 100% available.
07:00It still goes to failure.
07:02When the system, a service, our storage service goes to failure,
07:05which means in this period of time, the service is not accessible.
07:09What do we do?
07:10We still ensure the data is secure.
07:12That comes to durability.
07:14Today, in our OBS, we're providing 11.9 on a single AZ,
07:22and we're going to update in three AZs,
07:25which are going to be 12.9.
07:28What does that mean?
07:29Let me give you some figures.
07:3111.9, which means if you, as our tenant, put your data there,
07:38you put 100 million objects in our storage,
07:43over 1,000 years, you have a chance to lose one object in our storage.
07:48When that comes to 12.9, which means 10,000 years.
