00:00Dubai's private sector is finally back to hiring. For the first time in 12 months,

00:05the retail sector was adding more jobs all through January. It looks like the fast-tracking

00:10of the COVID-19 vaccination program seems to be injecting the right dose of confidence.

00:15The job creations were taking place even without sales happening at optimum levels.

00:20Interestingly, the retail and wholesale sector were the best performing,

00:24obviously benefiting from the continuation of various sales promotions, like DSF.

00:29Local market sources confirm that hiring activity, particularly at entry level,

00:34has been happening. Whether or not this momentum will be sustained depends on

00:38the construction sector, which could see an increase in new projects from April.
