00:00We are in the thick of a pandemic, and amid a COVID situation, Gulf News has launched an initiative for its employees to offer free PCR tests as well as free blood sugar tests for its employees.
00:12And trust me, this has gone down really well, because take me for example, I've never taken a COVID test before, but when I heard that Gulf News is offering this to its employees, I jumped in.
00:23We have taken this step for the employees' benefits. Since we are doing it from the compromises itself, it is safe for them. They don't have to go to the hospital to get this test done, especially when we had a couple of cases, so that's the main reason.
00:48So it is beneficial for the employees, especially all the big companies, they should offer these benefits to the employees, so that will be good for the country also. So if we identify any cases, so they can take care of the treatment.
01:04We have actually registered around 633 employees of Gulf News, out of which I think we have completed around 45 employees as of now. So we are doing two different tests, one is a COVID test, that is a PCR test where we are going to take the swab from the nose, and the second test is HbA1c.
01:21So it's an amazing opportunity for Gulf News, so that they are giving an opportunity for their employees to be a part of this COVID as well as HbA1c test. So what I would say is, even other employers have to promote or they have to take this kind of initiative, especially in this pandemic situation.
01:42Gulf News' campaign to test its employees is going really well. I think more companies should come forward and offer this to their employees, as a lot of people do hesitate to come forward and get themselves tested. But when an opportunity is given in the office, take it, and trust me, this can go a long way in curbing the spread of the virus.
