00:00Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has denied claims of an impending cabinet reshuffle

00:05following the appointment of Vince Dizon as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation, or DOTR.

00:11In an interview, Secretary Bersamin stated that he is unaware of any speculations

00:16regarding a supposed reorganization within the president's cabinet.

00:20He also clarified the sole reason for the change in the DOTR leadership

00:25is the health concerns of outgoing Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.

00:29Secretary Bersamin also emphasized that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s primary concern

00:35is the well-being of his cabinet members.

00:38The Executive Secretary also dismissed allegations that certain groups were dissatisfied

00:42with Bautista's performance or that he was compelled to resign.

00:47He reiterated that Secretary Bautista's resignation was not due to any external pressures or dissatisfaction.

00:55Well, I do not know yet how true they are or if there is any basis,

01:01but usually speculations are always there.

01:08We cannot tell you until it happens because, you know, we do not have compelling reasons.

01:19But speculations are ripe, so we just cannot dignify speculations.

01:26The president was always solicitous of the health of his cabinet members.

01:33So when the president and Secretary Bautista talked about it,

01:39it became clear to the president that Secretary Bautista may really need to take a rest from official duties.

01:49Secretary Bautista has asked for until February 21.

01:59The president and Secretary Bautista talked at length about the situation of Secretary Bautista.

02:17There is no other consideration there except to allow Secretary Bautista to have more health.
