00:0030 years after the last exhibition dedicated to the artist in the Lombard capital, Felice Casorati's work returns to Milan, among the great masters of the Italian 20th century.
00:13It is still in Palazzo Reale, to be made as a frame for the exhibition of the 100 masterpieces of the painter, just as it happened in 1990.
00:21Casorati in Palazzo Reale, this is the title of the retrospective, is promoted by the Municipality of Milano Cultura, produced by Palazzo Reale and Marsilio Arte in collaboration with the Casorati Archive,
00:31and curated by the major scholars of the Casoratian opera, Francesco Poli, Giorgina Bertolino and Fernando Mazzocca.
00:38The exhibition offers a comprehensive re-reading of the work of the artist, going back in chronological order the different seasons of its production, from the first years of the 20th century to the 1950s.
00:49In the exhibition there are practically all the greatest masterpieces of his production, starting with Silvana Ceni, which is the most famous, iconic painting.
00:59In some ways there is the Merigio, here in the first phase, in the phase of 1912, the Signorine, which is a painting of the Capesaro Museum in Venice,
01:13up to the masterpieces of the 1930s, such as the great portrait of Daphne, his wife Pavarolo, or a painting, even later, of great delicacy and great suggestion,
01:28which is called Le Sorelle Pontorno, a scene of motherhood in practice, very beautiful.
01:34With this exhibition, Biper Banca, sponsor of the initiative, confirms its commitment to the valorization of Italian artistic and cultural heritage.
01:43For Biper, investing in culture basically means telling, telling people, to the territories, to our customers,
01:50telling our identity, an identity that strongly believes and feels as its own, that of valorization,
01:56especially in a country like Italy, of our history, of our art culture.
02:01This is a work by a great master of the 20th century, who was present in many cities, because he traveled a lot, he got married often,
02:09but who also had a special relationship with Milan, a special relationship.
02:14So we are happy to bring this work to Milan, this exhibition, we are happy to do it together with the Municipality of Milan and also with Marsiglio Arte,
02:21with whom we have just finished the Picasso exhibition, which we will also bring to Rome at the end of the month,
02:26and therefore give the possibility, again in Milan, to enter these fantastic walls of the Palazzo Reale and to be surrounded, to listen,
02:34I say listen also to these colors, because they are perhaps the most poetic part of this great artist.
