00:00A family is facing relentless harassment from loan sharks who refuse to disclose the outstanding
00:07debt of their late relative.
00:09For 52-year-old Che, the nightmare began in November last year when her brother tragically
00:15took his own life.
00:17By January, she started receiving calls from loan sharks claiming he owed them money.
00:23This came as a shock as she was unaware of any such arrangement.
00:27She also suspects that pressure from the loan sharks may have contributed to his death.
00:32The family had a strained relationship with the deceased due to his history of borrowing
00:37money from them.
00:38Che had not been in contact with her brother for three years before his passing.
00:43Despite repeated requests for clarity on the debt, the loan sharks refuse to disclose the
00:48amount owed, instead continuing to harass her family, including her elderly mother.
00:55They have also posted defamatory statements about the family on social media.
01:25At a press conference on Friday, Che strongly condemned the loan sharks' actions, calling
01:33them deeply distressing.
01:46He also revealed that the family has already lodged two police reports this month.
01:51Che added that his department is drafting a letter to the police urging them to investigate
01:56the matter under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
