00:00Is Rachel Reeves doing a worse job of managing the economy than Liz Truss?
00:05Now, that's a view that you maybe don't hear that much, but it is the view of a group of high net worth individuals,
00:13wealthy individuals who have been interviewed for a big new survey.
00:16Now, in August, just after Labour had got in, 84% of them said they were confident in the UK economy and its prospects.
00:27That's now down after Rachel Reeves' budget, various policies that have come out, to just 48%, a record low from this group.
00:36And that is way worse than after Liz Truss' mini budget, when 67% said they still had confidence in the UK economy and its fundamentals,
00:46despite everything that went on with the misjudgments around the mini budget.
00:53Of those who were interviewed, about 2,000 people with lots of money were interviewed for this survey.
00:58Of those who were interviewed, about a third of them voted for Labour at the last election.
01:03Two thirds of that group say they now regret voting for Labour.
01:07So, you know, people will have a different view on whether policies should be aimed at wealthy individuals,
01:15whether it should be for a big group of people.
01:17But you've got to remember here, the context to this is that Labour came into the election promising to be the most pro-business government ever.
01:26That's something Rachel Reeves said.
01:28And to have this kind of negative reaction from wealthy individuals probably doesn't bode particularly well for the government at this stage in its life cycle.
