00:20far more frequent in areas with black bears.
00:23Historically, those who spot Bigfoot say he stands between six and nine feet tall.
00:27That's not too far off from adult black bears when standing up bipedally, which are around
00:31four to six and a half feet in height.
00:33In fact, the now peer-reviewed study found that for every 1,000 black bears in a particular
00:37area, Bigfoot sightings increased by 4%.
00:41In fact, there was one Bigfoot sighting for every 5,000 black bears in 2006.
00:45Foxen also discovered that nearby human populations also change the data as well, with more people
00:50near forested areas also meaning more Bigfoot sightings.
00:53And that metric was also true in places like Florida, where there are actually fewer bears
00:57but larger populations of people near forested areas.
